अपने स्वर्गीय परिजनों की निर्वाण तिथि पर जरूरतमंदों अथवा गुणी ब्राह्मणों को भोजन कराए, और भोजन में स्वर्गीय परिजनों की कम से कम एक पसंद की वस्तु अवश्य बनाएं, इसी दिन अगर हो सके तो अपनी सामर्थ्यानुसार गरीबों को वस्त्र और अन्न आदि दान करने से भी यह दोष मिटता है।

पीपल के वृक्ष पर दिन के समय जल, पुष्प, अक्षत, दूध, गंगाजल, काले तिल चढ़ाएं और स्वर्गीय परिजनों का स्मरण कर उनसे आशीर्वाद मांगें।

शाम के समय में दीप जलाएं और नाग स्तोत्र, महामृत्युंजय मंत्र या रुद्र सूक्त या पितृ स्तोत्र व नवग्रह स्तोत्र का पाठ करें, इससे भी पितृदोष की शांति होती है।

सोमवार को प्रात:काल स्नान कर नंगे पैर शिव मंदिर में जाकर आक के 21 पुष्प, कच्ची लस्सी, बिल्वपत्र के साथ शिवजी की पूजा करें। 21 सोमवार करने से पितृदोष का प्रभाव कम होता है।

सोमवती अमावस्या के दिन यदि कोई व्यक्ति पीपल के पेड़ पर मीठा जल मिष्ठान एवं जनेऊ अर्पित करते हुये “ॐ नमो भगवते वासुदेवाएं नमः” मंत्र का जाप करते हुए कम से कम सात या 108 परिक्रमा करे तत्पश्चात् अपने अपराधों एवं त्रुटियों के लिये क्षमा मांगे तो पितृ दोष से उत्पन्न समस्त समस्याओं का निवारण हो जाता है।

पितृ दोष दूर करने के लिए प्रत्येक अमावस्या को गाय को पांच फल भी खिलाने चाहिए।

अमावस्या को बबूल के पेड़ पर संध्या के समय भोजन रखने से भी पित्तर प्रसन्न होते है।

प्रत्येक अमावस्या को एक ब्राह्मण को भोजन कराने व दक्षिणा वस्त्र भेंट करने से पितृ दोष कम होता है ।

पितृ दोष से पीड़ित व्यक्ति को प्रतिदिन शिव लिंग पर जल चढ़ाकर महामृत्यूंजय का जाप करना चाहिए ।

According to Hindu religious traditions and beliefs, the Amavasya Tithi of every month is considered an auspicious occasion to commemorate the Shradh rituals of our forefathers.

Remedies to Pacify Pitru Dosha

Plant a Peepal or Banyan tree in the premises of a temple. Look after it and water it regularly. As the tree keeps growing, the Pitru Dosha too will keep fading away because on these trees all the Goddesses-Goddess, other-women, ancestors etc. reside.
Some general remedies which you can take into account are :-Shodash Pind Daan, Sarp Puja (worshipping snakes), Gau-dan to a Brahman(donating a cow), Kanya-Daan(giving away a girl in marriage), construction of a well, pond etc., planting a Banyan tree in the temple premises, reciting Vishnu Mantras. Also, to get rid of Pret Shrap, one should do the Paath/readings of Srimad Bhagavad Gita.
The Vedas and Puranas also talk about the recitation of certain mantras, Strotas as well as Suktas for the pacification of the souls of your ancestors. It is recommended to chant them regularly. If the food made during Amavasya meant for your ancestors, including rice, ghee and roti is offered to the cows with a devoted heart and mind then the Pitras get pacified.

Hence, you should fill a Copper vessel with water and mix it with red flowers, red sandalwood powder, Roli etc and use it to offer Arghya to the Sun. while doing so, you should also recite the Mantra, “oṃ ghṛṇi sūryāya namaḥ “/”ॐ घृणि सूर्याय नमः “. Doing so will appease your forefathers.
